GFM-TopoCAM
powered by Zoller

As a world novelty in the area of optical tool measurement, we integrated our new optical 3d coordinate measuring system TopoCAM into a tool measuring machine „Venturion 600“ by E. Zoller GmbH, Pleidelsheim.

By integrating an optical 3d sensor into a renowned industry tool measuring machine, GFM and Zoller presented an entirely new approach to the 3d coordinate measurement of cutting tools, under the general topic of POM (process oriented measurement).

The approach combines the advantages of a micrometer accurate CNC controlled measuring machine with those of fast, high-resolution, optical 3d measurement performed by a fringe projection sensor.

As shown in the adjacent picture, the optical 3d sensor is mounted to the z-axis of the Venturion measuring machine, allowing for positioning and tilting the sensor at micrometer accuracy.

The tool, mounted on a precision turning table, is positioned to different angles for the recording of different 3d views.

GFM's TopoXenios software provides for a complete 3d acquisition of the tool,.

Automated measuring programs and reverse engineering of tools are options provided with this approach.

The integration of the optical 3d sensor TopoCAM with the Venturion measuring machine is ideally suited for any requirements ranging from F&E to shop floor applications.
